The Social Media Slump

The dreaded social media slump. Yay! I'm climbing out of it.

Why did I fall in it? I fell in a slump for a zillion reasons. The first is just normal plain old burnout. I've been a social media manager, writing content and managing multiple businesses' digital profiles, email marketing, and copywriting websites for over thirteen years. In that time, I haven't really taken a break or a vacation without daily posting for someone, even during chemo. Except for maybe a few weeks in 2013, I hired employees and tried to hand over the responsibility. A slump was bound to happen.

Another reason is more relatable.

Over 13 years 😳 I've focused on daily posting & creating for clients neglecting my digital footprint. My business skills, mission, vision, and goals have changed so my website needed a revamp, socials needed my current voice and I needed to define who, what, my business is in the eyes of my target customer. 🀩 That's the sole reason we post right.. to target the people we want to connect with.

Keeping all this in mind and all that social media is: changes and new platforms, fresh content, new hashtags, where to hashtag, trends, timing, frequency... the list goes on but most importantly and challenging is figuring out WHAT TO POST!

How did I get out of it? I took a beat. Told myself it was ok not to post. I watched, listened, and heard what clients had to say. I defined.
made with love, style, and skill
Once I drilled down my three most essential feelings. I created a nifty rebrand of my logo, redesigned my website, defined new visuals, and created a strategy for my long-awaited occasionally nagged for tips for small business owners.

Hopefully, I'll stay on track and keep the posts coming. πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈ
